Just because your name isn’t David Ortiz, Paul Pierce, or Tom Brady doesn’t mean your name doesn’t belong in the Sports pages!

Every Wednesday, year-round, the SouthCoast In Action pages will appear in the Standard-Times’ sports section. It will be the place to find the results of just about any area youth sport, from Little League baseball to CYO basketball to Pop Warner football, and even individual sports like fencing and horseback riding.

In addition, it will also be open to any participatory sport as well, from any age group. Are you a competitive swimmer? Dive on in! Is martial arts your thing? Get your kicks here. More of a runner? Make us your finish line each week.

But what’s more, this space isn’t just about game scores and stats; it’s about the people you know who play their hearts out for the love of the game. We hope you’ll check us out each week, to root not only for your town or your team, but for the actual people who don the uniforms and compete.
